What is Brand Bidding?

What is Brand Bidding?

Companies involved in pay per click advertising may be familiar with the term brand bidding for certain search terms. Brand bidding means that marketers who are purchasing ads for search terms on Google bid on the brand terms of a third party. Essentially it means that your company’s website will appear when the user searches for a bigger brand name.

The concept behind brand bidding is that smaller, less known companies can get more traffic by being associated with more popular brands in the same industry. If a small, local shoe company bids on brand terms like “Nike”, for example, then their website will appear in search results and users might click on it during their search. The goal in brand bidding is diverting user attention to choose or at least become more familiar with a similar brand to the one they are searching.

Certain brands may not authorize other companies to bid on their brand name and only allow a group of affiliates to bid so that traffic is directed to approved pages. This can help block out certain bidders which may divert traffic away from them with their brand bidding practices. Technically brand bidding is allowed by Google and some companies have to be very vigilant to prevent it from affecting their traffic.

For the companies that allow brand bidding or simply ignore it, smaller brands can take advantage of using their notoriety to get better results from pay per click advertising. Bidding on specific brand names can result in a higher rank and more traffic overall. Most importantly, there is little risk involved since you only pay when users click through to your website.

Brand bidding may be threatening to some bigger brands but it can prove beneficial for unknown brands that want to increase their visibility.

Dealing with Fake Reviews

Dealing With Fake Reviews

Small businesses often have to deal with annoyance of reviews on their Google business page, Yelp or other site that are fake, negative reviews with low ratings. When someone owns a small company it can be obvious to them when someone writes a review that was not a client. Random people on the internet, disgruntled employees or other competitors may make fake profiles simply to post negative reviews of a business that they have had no interaction with.

Unfortunately it can be a bit challenging to prove to Google that those reviews are not valid in order to have them removed. You will need to carefully monitor your reviews and be able to make a case as to why they aren’t valid. Even though you may know for certain that these people were never customers, you need to be able to show Google, Yelp, Facebook or other websites that these profiles are fake and not legitimate complaints.

If the reviews don’t comply with community standards, the reviewer has a clear conflict of interest, they included profane language or if they are impersonating someone else then the website might remove them. There is no guarantee that the review will be removed but it can be worth trying to contact the website if you know for certain that the review is false. If you can’t get it removed, sometimes it can be helpful to write a response to the review and address their complaints politely so that other users can see both sides of the situation.

If negative reviews are a problem, often the best way to combat them is to work to attract more positive reviews so that they negative ones are less noticeable. Getting more consistently positive reviews on the page will eventually make the negative ones seem questionable to users.

Basic YouTube SEO Optimization

Basic YouTube SEO Optimization

Most businesses have begun to realize how crucial it is to use YouTube as part of a media marketing campaign. In addition to making lots of great video content, incorporating some optimization techniques can make your YouTube videos more effective through greater visibility in a search. SEO strategies can help ensure that your video comes up first, not only in a YouTube search but also through Google and other search engines.

YouTube allows users to manually add their own title, description and tags to make it easier for people to find your content. The first step in optimizing your video is using these options to your advantage so that you increase your visibility through the right keywords. You can use lots of keywords research to make sure you are adding the right terms that focus on user intent and make it more likely for them to find you.

Tags are important because they add keywords to your video and help classify the content. Make sure to only use relevant tags and avoid simply adding popular tags to make your video more visible. Picking the right thumbnail can also be helpful in appealing to users so make sure to pick an interesting image that shows your content is exactly what they are looking for.

Other advanced settings can also help improve visibility such as allowing embedding of your video. If your video can be embedded it means anyone can add it to their website which increases the rate at which it will be shared and viewed. Videos can also include a call to action so that the viewer can continue by clicking through to your website or other content you have created.

Part of optimizing means distributing your content as much as possible so that you can increase views and extend your reach. Make sure to share your videos on all social media to get better results.

Instagram Shopping 101

Instagram Shopping 101

Since Instagram added shopping options to the newsfeed and more recently to the stories feature, more businesses are finding ways to showcase their products to potential customers. Shopping posts appear as sponsored ads as users scroll through their Instagram account or when they are watching a series of stories. Instagram shopping posts allow you to tag products so that customers can click through to your website where they can purchase the specific item you are advertising.

In order to use Instagram shopping you simply need to set up a business profile in Instagram and add a shop section through your Facebook business page. Your Instagram account will then be reviewed and approved so that you can have access to the shopping feature. Once the feature is available you can add product tags and stickers to your posts and Instagram stories.

The shopping feature is beneficial to both businesses and customers alike because it allows brands to increase their visibility while helping shoppers find the products they will love. Businesses can provide appealing images of their products and tag up to five products per photo or video. With Instagram stories you can add one product sticker per story with colorful text that users can tap on to see more details about the item.

Instagram may also add a shopping channel on the Explore page which will allow users to browse through multiple brands and products based on their interests. People will be able to discover new businesses as companies also will be able to expand their reach to a bigger audience. The shopping feature overall is a way for people to view products that they might not have found on their own.

Using Instagram shopping is crucial for both small businesses and larger companies that want to reach people where they spend the most time online.

5 Warning Signs of a Bad SEO Firm

SEO_Agencies

Let’s face it: Virtually all industries have bad and good companies and the Search Engine Optimization field is not an exception. Signing up with incompetent SEO agencies in California can considerably harm your business.

But then, how do you figure out a bad SEO agency in California? To help you do that, this article focuses on how to recognize a poor quality SEO firm that can not only fail to drive traffic to your website but also pull it down altogether.

Below are the 5 Warning Signs of Bad SEO services California.

1. They Promise a Specific Number of Links Every Month
Companies that guarantee a set number of links per month are probably using black hat techniques or automated link building strategies. Useful links are as valuable as gold dust. They’re not easy to come by. The best links come from sites that are relevant to your industry. For instance, a link from a news article or publication that is relevant to your business tends to drive traffic to your site.

Obtaining these links can take a lot of time and work. So, there’s no way an SEO agency can guarantee a specified number of links each month unless they’re using black hat techniques.

2. They Promise to Bring In a Set Number of New Users
Whereas good SEO techniques increase website visits, it’s impossible to forecast the exact number of new users. Agencies that promise you a specified amount of traffic are simply lying to you.

And, if that promise is somehow true, you can rest assured that much of that traffic will either be irrelevant or inauthentic. Get an SEO agency that focuses on increasing traffic by looking at the overall trend instead of a quick jump up in users.

3. They Lack Transparency
Lack of transparency is one of the crystal-clear warning signs of a bad SEO agency. SEO companies that are hesitant to share their previous results most likely have nothing substantial to show you.

A reputable SEO agency should be willing to showcase their successful efforts with pride. Of course, you don’t expect perfection from an SEO firm and having a few failures in the past is unlikely to compromise your business.

You are right to choose an agency only if their success stories outweigh their previous failures. Stay away from companies that are reluctant to show you any results they’ve had with their current or past clients.

4. They Send You Cold Emails
Agencies that send you cold emails out of the blue are probably sending the same to thousands of other people. It’s a clear sign that such an agency hasn’t even taken time to research on the right clients to contact. Instead, they’re trying what is called “a quick numbers game.”

A good agency will first research your business to find out whether they can be of help to you. On the other hand, a bad SEO firm will not research your business and will employ a generic approach when doing your marketing.

seo techniques

5. They Promise Top Ranking in a Short Time Frame
Never engage in business with an agency that promises you top page ranking within a short span of time. Google does ranking periodically and not on a regular basis. There’s nothing you can do to speed up the process.

Your ranking depends on other site rankings, and it can take weeks or months. Google compares your site to other sites in the same niche to determine relevancy and popularity.

So, if someone tells you they can hasten your ranking process within a short time, it’s a hoax, and you may lose your hard-earned money if you fall into this trap. Search Engine Optimization can’t be done hastily unless it’s done poorly.

Why You Can Catapult Yourself Into Success Through Online Learning

Why You Can Catapult Yourself Into Success Through Online Learning

The Internet has removed our need to leave the house, or to be confined to one specific geographical location in many ways. From online shopping to looking for jobs online, to even searching for romantic partners, having the Internet connection can satisfy a wide variety of individual needs, without even having to leave your house or even to get dressed. Receiving an education is also something that can now be accomplished solely from the comfort of your home.

Many thousands of online courses exist, teaching an almost endless number of skills. CoursesforSuccess.com is just one such website that has hundreds of courses to help improve your professional skill set, allowing you to become a much more attractive option to potential employers in your field.

Previously, online courses were seen as a scammy way to get a few hundred dollars out of people. Now, there’s a wealth of courses online that have been carefully curated by professionals who wish to share their expertise. Even then, there are several accredited universities where advanced degrees can be earned almost entirely via online learning. There is new monitoring technology that allows for secure exam rooms even when testing is done via computer.

In addition, more and more learning establishments are taking their credentials online to serve a wider range of students.

There are numerous benefits to choosing to learn online as opposed to having to go to a dedicated school, such as:

Course Flexibility

Many people choose not to seek higher education because they simply don’t have enough time between the jobs they need to be at and the family they have to spend time with. This alone has been one of the major roadblocks people face in upgrading their skill sets. Simply put, a lot of people cannot take time off of work to pursue education and still support themselves.

Learning online allows you to control when you learn, where you learn, and at what pace. Lessons are pre-recorded so you can view them at any point in your day and in a place where you feel most able to actually absorb what you’re learning.

Increased Access to Support

Since the entire framework of the course is structured digitally, getting in contact with tutors or your instructors is made exceptionally easy, as most platforms have these features built-in. The better online learning sites have live chats where you can receive instant help with any problem you’re having with a specific course, while any reputable one will at least give you all the information necessary to send an email.

Nearly Unlimited Options

Real-life universities and schools can only offer programs for courses they know they can fill the seats for. They have to pay for the teacher, the space, and of course, for the maintenance of the said space. This means there’s a rather limited course selection at any brick-and-mortar institution, since there’s practically no incentive to offer niche courses when you could be filling lecture halls instead.

This isn’t the case with online learning. Since material can be pre-recorded either in video or text format and preserved indefinitely, there’s a lower initial cost in making a course and very little as far as keeping that course on offer. Photography lessons, niche programming languages, or even things like reading body language can be offered by these websites as there’s no pressure to fill seats. Therefore, the amount of things you can learn is of a much wider variety.

All of these points, plus the fact that you won’t be spending resources getting to and from a set location, mean online learning is a very attractive way to boost your resume or to learn practical skills.

Why You Need to Invest in Local SEO

Why You Need to Invest in Local SEO

Investing in local search because of having a local business makes sense. Many people looking for services near them such as dentists, restaurant owners, or plumbers take their search to Google. The top rankings there are the ones getting the business. Without optimizing your website for local SEO, you’re missing out.

We’ve created a list of some of the most powerful techniques you can use to rank your website locally. This will help you climb the search engines, rank, and get the great new business. Either follow the tips yourself, or select a professional company like KnP Net Media to do it for you.

What is local SEO?

SEO, or search engine optimization, is the practice of making your website the best choice in Google’s eyes. By using the tips below, you can show Google that you’re the best choice for the service in your area. Local SEO is doing this in a very specific area.

Step 1: Create your Google My Business page.

When you do a local search, you’ll often find the top rankings are linked to a map and have star ratings. These come from a company’s Google My Business page. Anyone can set up one. All you need to do is to register your company. When you add your details, Google will verify you by sending you a letter with a unique code on it. Simply use this code to validate your page, and you’re ready to go. You can then add things like your services and opening hours.

Your customers can also review you. Reviews are keys to getting to the top of Google. By getting a few dozen reviews along with filling out all of your information, you’ll see your business start to show in the local map pack.

Step 2: Optimize your website.

The next step is to optimize your website for the keywords that people are searching for. In local SEO, this will generally be something like ‘service+location’ – for example, plumbers in New York. Take these keywords and add it to the title, headers, and content of your website. This will tell Google that this is what your website is about, and will make it more likely to rank.

Step 3: Use location pages.

Now that you have your homepage set up, you should start adding location pages. These will target other nearby areas, and will help you show up for people not only searching for the city you’re in, but also if they search for a service in a local village near you that you can still service. If you build out lots of these, you can steadily increase the amount of traffic you get, while keeping it all local.

Step 4: Make sure your website is mobile-friendly.

People searching for local services are, more often than not, doing it on the move with their phone. This makes it a must to ensure your website appears well on mobile devices. Google also ranks these websites faster, meaning you’ll get more people finding your website, too.

Getting Your LinkedIn Content Viewed

Getting Your LinkedIn Content Viewed

Businesses often utilize LinkedIn to market to other businesses or certain demographics that are more likely to be interested in what they do. The content that you create for LinkedIn is only useful if it is visible to your target audience and you are able to get a good amount of engagement. Even if you have great content, you need to use some strategies to make sure that your articles or other types of content are seen by users on LinkedIn.

When it comes to creating content, long form status updates tend to be viewed more often on LinkedIn than full length articles. The updates are limited to about 300 words and are more effective at reaching people so that you means you won’t have to spend as much time writing them. Updates with an eye-catching first sentence are more likely to draw people in and encourage engagement.

Certain types of content can be more popular than others on LinkedIn depending on the audience you are trying to reach. In general, people like to read list posts that share a list of items such as your favorites books, blogs or podcasts. They also like to hear personal stories that can inform them or teach lessons about your professional journey in a way that resonates with readers.

You might want to share opinions that are somewhat controversial or challenge common beliefs to drive more engagement but be careful not to alienate readers. Another good strategy is to ask questions or invite others to ask you questions in the comments to get more people to respond. When you receive more engagements from your posts, make sure to reply to as many comments as possible so that people will feel heard and want to continue to interact with you in the future.

The 5 Fundamentals of Marketing

The 5 Fundamentals of Marketing

Marketing is a carefully curated practice, and has evolved exponentially in the Internet age. There are a few basics that comprise an excellent marketing model. They all combine to increase sales, revenue, and relevancy for both the business and the marketing firm representing them. Knowing them, and even more importantly, knowing how to use them, are helpful.

The building blocks of an effective marketing strategy can bring enormous success, if you know how to use them to their fullest extent. Here are those concepts that any successful marketing campaign will need to succeed.

1. Production Concept

The production concept is an old marketing tactic. Essentially, the production concept lays out the importance of the affordability and availability of a product, and marketing it as such. This concept is fundamental in the production and distribution strategy of a particular product.

This is step one of marketing strategy, but perhaps not the most important step. Production is just one part of the whole.

2. Product Concept

The product concept focuses further on the importance of a product’s relationship to its users, and how to innovate that product for more widespread use. This aspect keeps in mind that customers want the absolute best from their products, and are bound to find it elsewhere. This is really an exercise in innovation, and knowing exactly what a business’ customer base wants. It’s always best to stay ahead of the competition.

3. Selling Concept

The selling concept is one of the trickiest to pull off. This technique identifies what a customer wants for a short-term sale, thus focuses on selling one product as many times as possible to a variety of customers, but without the expectation that a customer will return. This promises quick profits. Usually, this tactic is used for “unsought goods” or goods that a customer may not have thought about buying before, and will most likely need or use one time.

4. Marketing Concept

The marketing concept of a marketing strategy is perhaps the most important as it looks at the big picture of customer satisfaction and long-term goals of a campaign. Marketers have to identify their competition in order to create the most effective strategy to outsell them and to continue to do so. This concept focuses on the importance of customer satisfaction to strategize best long-term practices.

5. Societal Marketing Concept

The societal marketing concept explores the value of customer satisfaction in relation to society as a whole. In the most basic sense, the societal marketing concept aims to connect the wants and needs of the customers to their society, making sure the marketing practice isn’t just good for the business’ success, but especially for potential, continuing, and new customers to enjoy. This more philosophical concept helps bring the business out of it, and more empathy in.

What We’ve Learned

The 5 marketing concepts are just the bare bones of a marketing strategy, but they continue to work together to create something successful.

The Top Digital Marketing Trends to Watch in 2019

The new year is fast approaching, and with it, a dramatic shift in the digital marketing landscape encompassing social media, PPC, content marketing, and SEO. If you are a website owner or a digital entrepreneur, knowing which marketing trends are quickly gaining momentum will help you adjust your own digital marketing strategies accordingly. Just remember that while it is important to keep these trends in perspective, it is just as important to experiment outside of the mainstream and start your own trends.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence or AI is poised to take over numerous industries, including digital marketing. AI is now being used by a number of major businesses to analyze consumer behavior and search patterns, with the use of information obtained from social media and blog posts. AI helps these businesses understand how users discover their products and services and how they can improve user experience.

The Top Digital Marketing Trends to Watch in 2019Chatbots are one popular example of this. Chatbots are programs that are designed to mimic human interaction through audio or text. They have come a long way since they were first developed in the 1960’s. Chatbots that are powered by AI today are becoming more and more effective at resolving complex concerns or requests as they are allowed to learn from customer conversations. Nevertheless, there is still a place for actual and real human interaction. For example, click here to find out how real human interactions are still king in the realm of website traffic.

Voice Search

With Siri, Alexa, and other similar voice assistance, companies are rethinking their digital marketing strategies in order to integrate voice search. Research shows that 50 percent of all search will be voice searches by the year 2020. Currently, more than 20 percent of mobile searches on Google are voice searches. Clearly, this is a trend that is quickly making its impact on the digital marketing world.

As the capacity of personal assistant devices to recognize human speech is improving, tailoring SEO strategy for voice search is essential. This is critical, especially given the fact that personal assistants like Siri will only show a few results for a voice search, compared to the hundreds of pages of results that are usually shown by search engines. To find out how you can improve your traffic for voice queries, visit us.

Interactive Content

According to studies, an overwhelming number of content marketers claim that interactive content tends to gain more attention compared to static content. Interactive content refers to content that involves the participation of the site visitor. It is believed to be a better way to inform, interest, and draw in an audience, with some statistics asserting that interactive content converts buyers 70 percent of the time, compared to only 36 percent for traditional, passive content.

Some of the top kinds of interactive content include assessments, calculators, contests, quizzes, and interactive infographics. Quizzes, in particular, are favored by many websites and digital marketers because people like to share their results on their social media pages, thereby increasing visibility.

How to Optimize Your Website for Voice Search

How to Optimize Your Website for Voice Search

Voice search is growing rapidly as a more popular option for finding information online and it not likely to slow down.

People prefer the easy hands-free option of voice search so it is crucial for marketers to consider these types of searches in the way that they approach optimization. It is possible for marketers to use SEO methods and other optimization tools to ensure that their company appears in the results of a voice search.

An important thing to keep in mind when optimizing is that the way people pose questions and use keywords with voice search is often very different than typing out a query. Understanding why and how voice search usually occurs can help you gain insight into the best ways to optimize. Specific voice queries may be more likely to be useful in directing people to your business in the results.

SEO professionals have been discovering new strategies to make use of voice search in a way that will boost a website’s rank. The ease with which people can ask questions on the go using voice search has made it beneficial for SEO marketers to get a website to appear more frequently. With voice search someone can quickly and easily find your business right when they are ready to make a purchase.

Differences in Voice Search

When people type in a search either on a computer or a phone they tend to use more succinct language. They might type in about one to three words that quickly identify the main information that they are searching for such as “Mexican restaurant LA”. With voice search it tends to be more conversational in tone since people don’t need to save time when typing and they often use more words and longer phrases.

A voice search might take the form of an actual question rather than just a couple of keywords such as “What is the best Mexican restaurant in LA?” Conversational phrases can be included in SEO strategies in order to get better results in voice search rather than focusing on short keywords.

Understanding the way that people use voice search and what takes place when it is used can help you come up with better optimization strategies.

Another aspect of voice search that makes it different from traditional searches is that it typically focuses on local results for specific items or places that people are looking for. When someone performs a voice search they often want to take immediate action because they are on the go or need to buy something. When typing a search into a computer the user is more often looking to read longer material and research a topic before they decide to make a purchase.

The type of content used to optimize voice search will work best if it is local and brief to help people make a quick decision to purchase from you. They often won’t be reading long articles or clicking through many different sites when using voice search so concise information that provides them a solution is the most effective. Reaching users when they are looking for local businesses can ensure that you are taking advantage of the possibilities of voice search.

Although traditional, computer-based searches are still important for optimization every marketer needs to familiarize themselves with voice search. If you are not optimizing for voice search then you are missing out on a great opportunity to reach customers who are looking for a business like yours. Balancing optimization for both voice search and typed searches can give you a more well-rounded marketing campaign.

6 Reasons to Consider Using Podcasts to Grow Your Business – And How to Do It

6 Reasons to Consider Using Podcasts to Grow Your Business - And How to Do It

When most businesses launch, they usually have a strategy in mind – go the traditional awareness way and then, leverage social media.

Whenever they’ve exhausted all options and ask me what next to do though, I find out that many of them are yet to explore the sheer opportunities provided by podcasts. This is a very shocking development for many reasons.

For one, 49% of Americans (aged 12 and above) admit to knowing what a podcast is, and no less than 33% of them have listened to at least one before. The numbers get more interesting when you find out that some 65% of listeners have purchased something promoted on a podcast than elsewhere.

It is thus a wonder why marketers who spent a paltry $90 million in podcasts ads as at 2014 are now projected to spend more than $400 million by next year (2019).

But then, even if these podcasts are recording such amazing numbers, how do they help your business?

1 Higher Engagement Rates

The thing with other forms of marketing (website, Facebook, twitter, etc.) is that you have to always get in front of your audience with new content. That is not the same with podcasting as you can keep them engaged without their visiting your site at all.

Anytime you drop a new podcast, it is automatically downloaded to the consumer’s favorite device. Given that the average American spends 25% of their total audio time on podcasts too, that means better results for you.

2 Low Entry Barriers

Podcasting is one of those forms of outreach that you can start with little to no experience. People out there are podcasting just for the fun of it, and businesses are getting in on the trend too.

Software and hardware requirements are equally not overwhelming. You can even scale up as you go higher in your business.

If you still want things done professionally, you won’t have to break the bank. You can find a handful of good Phoenix sound mixers to help you take your podcast from an amateurish level to that professional audio output level you desire – in no time, and at not much cost.

3 Brand awareness

If I haven’t already mentioned this, podcasting is one of the most natural ways to drive quality organic traffic to your website. With the amount of engagement the platform brings, there is no doubt about it being one of the unique ways through which you can spread your brand awareness further.

Podcasts can also be shared on different distribution platforms. This allows you put your podcast onto more visible sharing platforms. From here, all roads lead to a greater brand visibility.

4 Passive Consumption

Have you ever thought about how busy your audience might be? Not all of them, but quite a handful of them?

These ones might not have the time or patience to browse through your website content or social media updates, but they can always consume your podcasts passively. That opens up a new market for you with such people, allowing you to break into their own space.

5 Highly Effective

All of these benefits of podcasts would mean nothing if they didn’t hold any promise for your business. That is why it is important to reiterate how 63% of podcast listeners claimed to have bought something that was advertised to them.

It is also important to note that up to 88% of all those who are subscribed to your podcasts will listen to everything you have to say. By everything, I mean every episode too.

I might be wrong, but tell me any other platform currently offering such an engagement rate.

6 Audience Availability

Every business needs an audience to survive.

On the iTunes podcasting section alone, there are more than 1 billion total subscribers within your reach. Castbox and Podcast Republic might not be as large, but they offer you some 5 million subscribers too. Yet another platform is Podbean which brings on board an addition 1 million subscriber market.

Considering how even the top three social media networks can’t add up to give you such numbers, it is not rocket science why podcasting should be atop your business marketing agenda.

Getting started with podcasting

Like I said earlier, getting into podcasting for your business is not capital intensive at all. However, I suggest getting it done right, even if it means bringing professionals into the loop.

The best place to start would be by looking around your neighborhood for such professionals.

There are a couple of great Phoenix podcast recording studios that you can book sessions with to get your audio content out there. These studios not only offer you state-of -the-art equipment to make your content delivery better, but guidance and direction too.

You would also want to look for a great sound mixer to ensure everything you say is as crisp as possible. Fact is, a sound mixer should come as part of the deal when you’ve landed a great recording studio already.

Conclusion

The numbers are there. The platform is there. The tools are there.

Now that you know just how important podcasts can be to your business, why wait? If you ask me, the best time to have started podcasting is yesterday.

The market is still fresh – break in and scale your brand better!

Is Your Content Dying to Be Engaged?

Is Your Content Dying to Be Engaged?

One of the the key elements that marketers focus on is creating high quality content that will keep people interested in their brand. But another crucial factor in marketing success is also getting higher levels of engagement on your content. How do you get more users to interact with and respond to the content that you share?

The content that you write for blogs or post on social media can get more comments, likes and shares if you think of angles that will make people feel involved. This could mean writing about debatable topics or asking for users opinions about things so that they are more likely to chime in. You can ask a question, have people compare two options or open up a friendly non-offensive discussion.

Another strategy to take in order to increase engagement is to use relatable humor, surprising facts or interesting stories to get people to respond to your posts. Content that has these qualities tends to get shared more often because users are hoping to get others to respond. It is a good idea to know your audience and what type of humor or stories will be relatable and interesting to them.

Appealing graphics and images are also a simple way to attract more attention and encourage more engagement with your content. If you are posting a blog then incorporating some infographics, screenshots or images of your products can help illustrate the topic you are discussing. Social media posts with colorful and attractive images tend to get more attention and engagement from followers.

Video can be just as effective a tool as images so make sure to incorporate some short video clips on your blog or social media profile. Using a variety of different strategies to increase engagement can lead to building more popular content online.

Which Website Builder is Right for Me?

Which Website Builder is Right for Me?

There are plenty of different tools available to help people create their own websites without having to have any special coding knowledge. The most commonly used options are WordPress, Squarespace, Wix or Weebly which all offer options for creating a custom site. But how do you know which one will work best for the type of website you want to design?

One of the most important things to consider when choosing a website builder is what you are willing to spend in order to make your site. There are plenty of cheap or even free options for creating a site but they may not as secure, easy to use or have as many design capabilities. For personal blogs or a freelance type of business like photography, a cheap or free option like Squarespace may be the best choice.

For a small but more established business, most people choose WordPress because it is very user friendly, has many more design options to create a unique site and it is also more search engine friendly. It is a little more costly than other options but it offers many benefits that small businesses tend to prefer if they want more professional looking website. Because of its wider spectrum of design capabilities, WordPress sites are easier to customize and create the exact look and function that you want.

For someone looking to create just a basic website that they can use Squarespace for free or upgrade to the business plan for a small monthly fee. Wix and Weebly have very cheap basic options as well. The cost of creating your website will depend on the type of services you need as you choose from the different plans available.

Anyone can create their own website but finding the right builder depends mainly on your individual business needs and your site budget.

Getting Started with Micro-Video Content Creation

Getting Started with Micro-Video Content Creation

Video marketing has become a more integral part of a business’ overall advertising strategy as the popularity of video continues to grow online. People tend to seek out video to find information and also remember video more easily than other types of content. Powerful companies are now using micro-video content to engage users and increase brand recognition.

A micro-video is a essentially a short video clip aimed at retaining people’s attention by keeping the content brief. A micro-video might only be about 15-30 seconds long but contains valuable marketing information that the user is more likely to remember. People will usually watch the whole video, understand the message and be more inclined to engage with your business.

When it comes to creating micro-video content it is important to have a goal in mind such as brand awareness, customer retention or increasing engagement. You can then choose a type of video that will help you reach your goal such as GIF, animated video or simply a short clip. GIFs can be effective for creating something humorous or showcasing products with an eye-catching animation of them.

A video with real footage may be useful in introducing a new product and including important information about it that you want to share. For a real video clip you need to write a script if you plan to have narration or dialogue. In some cases you may just want to use background music along with compelling images and text.

Make sure to use some good quality equipment for your video including a nice camera and audio recording tools. A better quality video is likely to get more engagement especially if it has high quality audio rather than a smartphone microphone. Once you have shot, edited and uploaded your micro-video you can post and promote it on social media where you will start to see more engagement.

How To Choose The Right SEO Agency For You

How To Choose The Right SEO Agency For You

One study conducted in 2014 found that the first page of Google gets 95% of web traffic and that 67% of users go for one of the first five results on the first page.

Would you like your business to be on the first page and have a higher chance of attracting high-quality traffic? If you answered yes, then you need to find an SEO agency with the kind of expertise that will push your rankings forward.

In today’s age of competitive business, buying goods and services is quite tasking because there are a plethora of options available on the market. You are likely to face this challenge when choosing an SEO agency and the chances are that you might end up selecting an agency that does its marketing well but fall short with its services. If you are deciding to choose an agency to do your SEO, here’s what you need to do to get the best.

Check how long an agency has been operating

What experience does every agency you are looking into have? If an agency has been in the industry for long, then it has weathered several storms, and it is in a position to improve your rankings. New SEO agencies might know how to do SEO, but they might not be able to adapt to the ever-changing SEO requirements quickly. However, you should not discredit all new SEO agencies because some employ experts who can do the job as well as those in older agencies.

When looking at the longevity in business, you also need to check if an agency has worked with both small and big companies. If they have worked successfully with both, you can trust them because they aren’t just masters of one talent.

Gauge portfolios

Before making your final decision, you ought to compare the portfolios of several SEO agencies. If you go through their websites, you are likely to find a list of businesses that they have worked with in the past, though some might want to remain anonymous. If there is no list on the website, that’s a red flag.

An agency’s portfolio shows you the kind of businesses it serves which in turn helps you identify if it works with businesses in your niche. For instance, if you sell shoes online and the agency has worked with lots of online stores, then that’s a good sign that it can get the job done for you. Moreover, if an agency has worked with a variety of businesses, it shows that it is versatile and can adapt quickly.

Examine your goals

Your SEO strategy should have a goal at the end, for example, increase social shares by 5% quarterly. The figures of your goals should be tangible, reasonable, and attainable, keeping in mind that SEO is a field that does not achieve results overnight. That said, a good SEO agency is one that puts your goals and objectives first. Hence’ if you come across an agency that wants to begin working right away without knowing what you want to achieve, run! More importantly, the practices and goals of an ideal agency should mirror yours, so that you are always on the same page and working towards the same results.

Look for proven results

Research is pivotal when looking for an SEO agency. One of the things you need to look for before arriving at a decision is proven results. Are an agency’s past clients and employees satisfied with its services? You can get trustworthy reviews from an agency’s website.

Another great way to get unbiased opinions is to look at reviews left by previous customers on Google or Yelp. Alternatively, you can contact several past clients who have worked with a said agency to find out if they achieved the results they wanted.

Ask questions

This is one of the most critical steps that will help you determine whether an agency understands what you want and if it is the best fit.

Ask questions about:

  • The processes the agency uses
  • The resources that they need from you
  • What steps you should take when things are not done correctly
  • Their communication and reporting process for the progress of the SEO strategy

Mistakes you should avoid making

Trusting search engines as filters

The first step toward getting an agency is conducting some research, mostly via Google. When you search the best SEO agencies in your location, you’ll get some results, which you should take with a pinch salt. The best companies are busy and overwhelmed by new and retained clients. Hence they might not have all the time to do good SEO for their websites and appear on the first page on SERPs.

Believing there’s a secret method

One of the hugest red flags is agencies that tell you they have a secret SEO formula that will improve your ranking. This might have been the case a few years back but nowadays, SEO is an open field, and no one has a secret process.

Following the processes discussed above will land you an agency that does the best SEO and adapts to change quickly. For more information about SEO agencies, visit https://serpbook.com/blog/agency-rank-tracker/.

3 Remarkable PPC Studies From 2018

3 Remarkable PPC Studies From 2018

In the PPC business, data makes the world go ‘round. Things can change in the blink of an eye, but the good news is that results can be measured easily through hard data. The problem is, that data is not always readily available. Many companies hoard the data from their PPC case studies or put it behind paywalls, and with good reason. The data on good PPC ads can give an important edge over the competition.

All that being said, however, you needn’t worry. Push Group an award winning London based PPC agency stays up to date on all the cutting edge research being done in the world of PPC ads.

They’ve tracked down three remarkable PPC studies that took place in 2018, all with interesting and important data from the latest in this field.

1. This case study on how to get a good quality score

This study focused on using the AdWords performance grader to find what the common characteristics were in a high quality score account. It found that these accounts had five shared characteristics: good click-through rates, high use of long-tail keywords, ad text optimization that was ongoing, a high amount of dedicated account activity, and perfectly following best practices.

This is important because it shows us what work realistically needs to go into getting a high quality score, which makes a big differences in PPC campaigns. Our agency is dedicated to staying up to date on these best practices. With a good quality score, a company’s cost per click can be greatly reduced, resulting in more benefit for less money.

2. This study done on the company Orangeries UK

Studies done on PPC campaigns for specific companies can tell us a lot. In this case, Orangeries UK was suffering from “no organic position, poor enquiry volumes, poor conversion rates, [and an] expensive adwords campaign.” The company that they approached to run their PPC campaign put several strategies into action that were ultimately successful in improving the PPC campaign and saving Orangeries UK money that they were able to put towards other areas.

To do this, the ad agency “designed a new, fast loading, responsive website”. In addition to that, they also put effort into integrating new keywords, as well as installing advanced tracking code.

With these and other techniques, they found they were able to improve traffic a whopping 2115% over less than a year, with 300 unique visitors a day. They also increased lead, improved conversion rate and quality score, and reduced the amount that Orangeries UK had to spend on PPC. Great results!

3. This one done on PPC for MF Fire

MF Fire is something of a niche company, designing and engineering fire products through the latest science. One of their crowns is the Catalyst, “the world’s first and only smart and efficient in-home wood burning stove.” The problem was, being the world’s first there was not a lot of awareness about this product. MF Fire needed to communicate to customers what the product was and how they could benefit from it.

The marketing company developed four key search terms that drew more traffic to the site. Once they had those terms, they created one more landing page to catch traffic with more general searches like “best wood stove”. Then they were able to launch a remarketing strategy that focused on ads to customers targeted by which landing page they had visited.

This strategy had a huge impact for the company, resulting in a greater online presence as well as a 267% increase in PPC traffic, a 59% increase in branded traffic, a 23% decrease in bounce rate, and a 170% increase in total conversions.

The right PPC strategy can truly make a huge difference in PPC spending, as well as web presence and overall sales.
